Our attractive grounds provide a relaxing quiet space to make the most of camping in Hay on Wye.
Our site offers campers all they need to enjoy a traditional style of camping whilst enjoying the peaceful surroundings of the outdoors. Our excellent facilities enables them to camp comfortably and relax by their fire under our famous dark skies and stars.
It is ideal for outdoor groups engaging in activities with us or friends and families gathering for a traditional fireside camp. By traditional, we mean that we do not have electricity available, chemical toilet disposal, manicured grass, a shop, playgrounds, or over-illuminate the site. However, we do offer a clean, quiet site that allows fires, with excellent toilet facilities and wonderful hot showers!
Quiet site
A peaceful night's sleep is important to all of us. Therefore, we request that our campers be considerate of other guests and enforce quiet on site after 10:30 p.m. and 'Whisper mode' between 11:00 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. It surprises many campers how sounds can travel after dark in an open field. If this reasonable request cannot be complied with, you will be asked to leave with no refund.
Fires
For those desiring to cook or relax by a fire for an authentic camping experience, 'Raised Fires' are available for hire. Fires on the ground are not permitted. If you bring your own equipment, it must be elevated according to our requirements to prevent scorching the grass. Fire bricks can be supplied upon request.
We do not allow the use of Single use disposable BBQ’s. BBQ’s must also be raised and robust.
Firewood: Bags of logs can be purchased if you wish to have a fire or you are welcome to bring your own. We do not allow foraging within the grounds for wood as it would not be sustainable to our woodland.
Hay Festival
Our campsite in Hay on Wye is just along the lane from the Hay Literature Festival site. Please note, our service, prices & facilities are different during the Hay Festival. Please click on the button to see services available during the festival

Please note: We are primarily an outdoor centre with camping on site for activity groups. We sometimes have groups who have 'sole use' or we are away facilitating activities off site. Therefore, we are not open at all times for general camping. Please contact us for availability and to book prior to arrival.

Our site is for groups wanting camping as an option for accommodation with our activities. This means the site can not be used as a 'venue' for a celebration or party and you should contact us for clarification or alternative options we offer.
We are not able to take caravans or motor homes, but can provide information of other campsites in Hay on Wye that can.
